We boarded the boat at the dock behind the Town Hall on a warm clear morning.
Nearly thirty of us crowded on for the short trip to the island behind us.
The boat first brought us all to the Island, where we strolled the boardwalk to the other side.

Then the boat brought us all to the Picnic Hut south of the Island.
The Picnic Hut has a floating dock intended to make it easy to land and leave no matter whether the tide is high or low, but some of us needed help with that steep gangplank.

On the left can be seen the stair to the south pod of the Picnic hut. The area between the stair and the dock is shallow enough for comfortable and safe bathing of children through adults.

After eating all the usual picnic foods, we jumped into the  clear, inviting water.
Sometimes the natural items found on the sea floor become toys to amuse the older children.
Looking toward shore, we can see the hut of the watchers who monitor fishing in the area.
Looking south, the Leyte coast is shrouded in mist and rain, while Gumalac island, on the right of the picture and actually nearer to us than it looks, shares our still-fair conditions.
From the west, the clouds began to move in...
As time passed, the sky turned grey, except for a few slivers of sunlight like the one which illuminated this tree...
The showers arrived as the skies darkened.
So we packed and boarded the boat to return to town .
